I bought this scale to replace a scale that was over 20 years old. What attracted me was the variety of units and the 11lb capacity (the previous scale was 6lb). Positive aspects: compactness, simplicity and clarity of measurements, the ability to set the tare weight, that is, you can put empty containers on the scale. scale, then reset the scale to zero so the weight of the container is not measured. Also, its 11lb capacity makes it more than just a kitchen scale, it can be used for measuring parcels etc. The only downside is the claimed accuracy. It reads to the nearest 1/100th of an ounce, which is extremely light weight. I've compared it to a precision scale and found it to be fairly accurate for cooking weights, mailing, and other everyday tasks, but it's not an accurate scale. I measured some of the small items in the photo on a precision scale to within 0.004 ounces and they weighed 2.95 ounces. Milo's scale showed them to weigh 2.89, 2.93, 2.93, 2.96, 2.96 ounces in 5 trials. This is very similar and consistent, but when set to grams it consistently shows the weight as 85 grams when the correct weight is 83.5 grams. That's a 0.05 ounce error, barely enough to worry about. Interestingly, while the scale does show weight to the nearest 1/100th of an ounce, it only reads whole grams. One gram equals 0.03 ounces, so if it reads 1/100th of an ounce it must read at least 0.5 grams. Therefore, this is not the scale to use when you need weights accurate to the nearest gram or tenth. Ounce. No culinary or other kitchen need I can think of requires more precision than Milos scales offer. It's a mistake to throw ounces at 1/100th, but as long as the user understands this, this scale is of great value and provides all the accuracy and consistency that 99% of people will ever need.
