Does not accept 12V AC as stated

Nice little multi but NCV doesn't detect under voltage at all (outside lights 12 VAC). I decided to try again and bought the exact same model from a different seller and it recognizes 12V AC with no problems. This one claims to have updated chips (&gt;6V) but I doubt it as it doesn't recognize 12V AC at all, so I bought it.
