Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced Work Support Stand: Rockwell RK9034 JawStand XP by Brett Gilbert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Helped solve field table sawing headaches.

I work in the field with my portable table saw (GTS1031) and like most portable machines, the bed is too small to comfortably cut long boards or bulky items like plywood or drywall. I built side and rear outriggers to use in the field using two of these JawStands, six foot 2x4 stands and 1" roller bearings (thanks to Revain Poster Endres for the idea). The six bottom supports allow me to separate the 4x8 pieces. bisected either vertically or horizontally with no support issues. The JawStands appear to be very well made and have good elevation and tilt adjustment features, including a fine elevation adjustment. As you can imagine, all of these adjustments are great when you're in the field, where there's usually no flat surface. If required, the legs have holes that you can drive those large steel tent pegs into to secure them in place. When used as a non-roller bearing outboard, there is a possibility that friction from large objects may cause the stands to attempt to tip over if the legs are loose.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • So far so good
