I was hoping that this egg and mushroom slicer would last longer than the classic single hinged model I had previously. I was hoping that applying pressure across the cutting wire, rather than just in one direction, would result in better load distribution on the cutting wire. But I was wrong. This thing's wires snapped in no time. And the bits of food got stuck in a narrow groove that runs around the perimeter of the various cutting tools that make up the set. So I bought another classic egg slicer and mushroom slicer model. This lasted at least a few years.
