It really works! Best Screws

Oh yes, that's five stars. in front of the sink. Then it dried and after that (standard, red oak, tongue and groove) the floor creaked horribly and drove me crazy every time I used the sink. I tried talcum powder, an idea found online and it helped only minimally. Then I called the local flooring company and they recommended it, in theory I had nothing to lose with the floor being removed anyway if I tried 50 screws. You will need your own 1/8" bit, the "long" version is at least 3" (2-1/2" for the screw and 1/2" for the attachment height). The screw threads are double pitch, 8 at the bottom of each screw and 9 near the breakaway shank. The pitch 8 is more aggressive, so the screw itself pulls the ground tight to the base without using a screw head. The shank is knurled so it breaks when the head of the screw hits the top of the jig, leaving a clean hole only 1/8 inch wide in the ground. Floor. Use it! I am proficient with a drill and tried it once without a drill, learned the lesson and then used the product as recommended by the manufacturer. So filling in the "empty" 1/8" holes with colored wood putty (I used two shades of Minwax brand) will make the screw holes invisible. discreetly calm down the area in front of my sink and make the floor there quieter than that never wet 30 year old soil around it.The product is easy to use and the bonus is that it is at least partially made in the USA...

Pros
  • The screw is knurled so it will snap 1/4 inch below the top of the hardwood when driven into the bracket.
Cons
  • weak
