Amazing monitor but consider Thunderbolt issues

When setting up my new home office, I was looking for monitors for my new HP Specter x360 laptop. I have been using dual monitors for many years and started looking at them until I found such ultra wide monitors. This monitor offers a display width equivalent to that of a dual monitor setup without the hassles of center bezels or dual display setups. My laptop only has two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports and one USB-A 3.1 port. I was hoping to reduce the number of connections to a single USB-C Thunderbolt connection between laptop and monitor, use the back of the monitor as a "hub" for keyboard and mouse connections, and use up to 80W to power the laptop to provide. First I realized that Thunderbolt 2 can only be connected to 3 via an adapter - a simple cable would not work. After buying such an adapter, but it didn't work, I finally called LG. And they explained that the power doesn't go through the Thunderbolt 2-to-3 adapter, nor does the keyboard/mouse inputs go through the back of the monitor. So I basically paid extra for a version of Thunderbolt that I don't use. I hope you don't make the same mistake as me. But other than that, this monitor is amazing! Connected my laptop to this monitor via a USB hub and configured the display properties for multiple monitors and an extended desktop. Make sure this monitor is set to its maximum resolution and operational. I can fit almost three full windows on the screen and organize the windows so I can work smoothly and productively.
