Review on Bare XF Men's Cross Training Shoes: Optimize Your Fitness Performance by Jeff Strutz

Best for powerlifting

These shoes are great for climbing. In fact, these are slippers with laces. Very thin sole to keep you nice and close to the ground when deadlifting. The sole is very grippy, which is very helpful when working with the legs during the press. I've had them for about 11 months. I wouldn't recommend them for CrossFit or running unless you're one of those people who always do better barefoot. The sole flexes with your foot and therefore does not provide a very stable base for dynamic movements. But it offers enough protection that you don't accidentally stub your foot on every random device or plate. I don't think they will do well outdoors.

Pros
  • The lightweight construction makes the shoe easy to wear and move around in.
Cons
  • The rubber sole can be slippery on certain surfaces.
