Review on Black Decker BDSL10 36 Inch Gecko by Devin Girard

I love this level! It even has features!

I bought this because it was on sale and I needed a spirit level. I didn't know I was getting features! The thing is great! She has a cool feature on the back with two small legs. One is slippery and the other is rubber. The slippery feet are like buttons and once you know where you want to set the level, you press the slippery feet and the rubber feet will "stick" to the wall to keep your level from moving! Don't press hard, just press a little and the level won't slip as long as you use the pen. The second feature is the small round sliding buttons. My level is slightly different from the picture. In my level, the bubbles are in the middle of the level as the fourth view of this level under the goods. On each side there are two sliding buttons with a small cross inside. Approach your painting, turn it over and if you have two picture hooks, line up both slides over each hook. Now you don't have to use a tape measure to figure out how far apart those hooks are and then try to balance your spirit level, tape measure and pencil as you climb the stairs. No doubt you will drop your pencil and go down the stairs and have to start over. As soon as you climb back up, you swear that this time you won't drop your pencil but your measuring tape, leaving behind a small gauge that will one day need fixing. You go back down the stairs and hope nobody hears your comments. You climb back up and wonder if you can balance the tape measure on your head. Finally you marked the points but they don't line up so you have to move the layer again and now you have hidden your marks and not sure if the first mark was right or the second mark so take the tape measure off the head and oh no! You just dropped your pencil again. This level avoids all that heartache! You set the slide knobs where you need your marks, press the level so it doesn't move, and because of the little cross on the slide knobs, use a pencil to mark the spot without moving the level. I read a review that someone got two of these that weren't on the same level. Maybe that's the reason for the design change? I tried the test mentioned by the reviewer (place the level on a nearly flat surface, then rotate it 180 degrees like a turntable spin, and if the bubble is in the same spot, the level is level). Good news, mine is perfectly straight. Thank you to this reviewer for teaching me how to review. Although I bought mine on sale I think I will buy another one as a gift. It's hard to get carried away with the level, but it's cool!
