Black Decker BDSL10 36 Inch Gecko Review

Great design but poor quality control and customer service. I ordered this and it didn't have 2 pads - only the glue was showing. I ordered a replacement and it didn't have the same two pads. I contacted Black and Decker and after several disconnects and no call backs they recommended I send in a third replacement with no quality check. I have chosen a different brand. I refuse to reward bad company practices with my dollars.

I find this very useful, but the tool has limitations. First, retractable "locators" move too easily. They need to be more solid so they stay in place once placed. Of course, having a built-in bubble level is brilliant. Stupid, I always thought that this tool only works really well when you're hanging items on a big wall. I bought this for my husband last Christmas when he indicated he needed a leveling up as his "grey hair was starting to show". LAUGH OUT LOUD! When you read reviews of a level, you're probably wondering if the tricks add or decrease the quality of the level. Because if you take Gecko Grip and Accu Mark out of the equation, you still get a level at a fair price and in top condition. I do not know. I have this level and I think it's a great tool. I have textured walls at home. My wife is constantly moving photos and adding more and more of our children. I've always found it very difficult to use laser levels as they don't tell me where to put a hole only when the picture is flat. There are 2 features that make this level unique: 1. I bought this because it was on sale and I needed a spirit level. I didn't know I was getting features! The thing is great! She has a cool feature on the back with two small legs. One is slippery and the other is rubber. The slippery feet are like buttons and once you know where you want to set the level, you press the slippery feet and the rubber feet will "stick" to the wall to keep your level from moving!
