Review on 1 75mm PET Tolerance Color Matrix for Additive Manufacturing by Dave Rasic

This review contains 1.75mm diameter Color Matrix PET Filament. This material is very similar to PETG, but there is simply no glycol added, so it doesn't have a G on the end. In comparison, PET is generally a more brittle plastic. PET is harder and less flexible than PETG. PET is a good choice when you want similar properties to PETG but in a tougher condition. If you have worked with PETG in the past, this should help you understand what PET has to offer. PET is commonly used in clear plastic bottles, which as you can see are inherently more rigid. Another thing about PET is that it tends to be almost, if not 100%, recycled. I had never printed PET before receiving this roll but was interested in trying it. I printed a lot of details in PETG and everything turned out great. For best results, you should handle this the same way you would print PETG. This means that the first layer does not need to be smoothed out as with PLA, and higher temperatures are a must for this filament if you want good layer adhesion. Personally, my PET/PETG settings are as follows (although they may vary by printer): Nozzle size: 0.5mm. Nozzle temperature: 240°C in the first layer, 235°C in all other layers. or even smaller, this stuff doesn't require a big fan) My favorite part of this filament is the spool. The bobbin can be disassembled without the bobbin and filled with yarn. You can buy any other brand of filament without a spool and snap it on here, as well as buy replacement Color Matrix cartridges. That's cool. I printed a similar coil but this one works better than the one I made. All in all this is a good thread. The material appears to be of good quality. It printed well, with the low stretch you would expect from PET/PETG. If I had the choice, I would definitely choose this brand of thread again.
