I've never heard of this brand and reviews are mixed. But the price was reasonable so I decided to give it a try. So far, so good. My laptop didn't have an HDMI port or a full-size SD card slot. As a hobby photographer, both are important to me for working on a big screen and importing files from camera memory cards. I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality. The adapter is made of durable glass and feels strong, not plastic. Of course, only time will tell the build quality. I checked all ports and they are working fine. The speeds are on the level of pure USB speeds with slight deviations that are within the tolerance or error limits. My external Samsung T3 I SSD achieves 430 MB/s reading and about 400 MB writing on direct USB-3. With the adapter I was able to get about 420/400. Using an adapter to drive an external HDMI 1080 TV and a Samsung drive, I got about 420/390. The difference may be due to the temperature of the SSD. I'll do a cleaner test soon. Advantages: - Presence of a USB-C pass-through through the female connector, which allows you to quickly charge the connected MacBook - Very small and compact. Less than I expected. - The build quality is very good and solid. - 2x USB and SD card readers work at full speed after the test. Disadvantages: - Glass housing cools well. The temperature isn't boiling hot, but definitely warmer than you might expect. The body is really hot. Even when connected to the network with no connections, it feels warm. I guess I can't run it 24/7.
