Thin synthetic material (e.g. fitness t-shirts and drip-fit) with good elasticity. The padding is decent for the occasional slight bumps I got while working on my driveway machines (weekend warriors). Works well when I have to get on my knees to align jacks, work in wheel wells, remove/install wheels, etc. These sleeves are lightweight and breathable. However, these knee pads are very light. Developed for sports with knee loads. They probably won't last very long for what I use them for. Also, these knee pads are for impact protection only. I don't think it offers a support like "knee braces".
