As with some of the other reviews mentioned, slides in old cardboard frames sometimes freeze. By tilting the viewing window towards me, I was able to run the old slides through without any of them freezing, so technique plays little part in how well this works. The light source is ideal for viewing slides and is not too bright which can make viewing a lot of slides uncomfortable over time. Bottom Line: It helped me sort through hundreds of slides to determine which ones could be saved to disk with minimal effort at a reasonable cost.
