As with some of the other reviews mentioned

As with some of the other reviews mentioned, slides in old cardboard frames sometimes freeze. By tilting the viewing window towards me, I was able to run the old slides through without any of them freezing, so technique plays little part in how well this works. The light source is ideal for viewing slides and is not too bright which can make viewing a lot of slides uncomfortable over time. Bottom Line: It helped me sort through hundreds of slides to determine which ones could be saved to disk…

Extremely disappointed with product

After reading many reviews on Revain I chose this viewer to view many of my grandmother's slides. The device looks good and it was easy to put in the batteries and get it running. However, I looked at two slides before the device got stuck with the third slide in it and wouldn't eject. Using the suggestions of some others, I tried shaking the device. It literally fell apart! The slide was stuck inside and I had to use tweezers to get it out. It was so tight I almost had to snap the bolt to get…

There was once.

I'm a Vietnam War veteran with hundreds of slides shot across the country. I haven't looked at these slides in 35 years! Too many more memories. But I thought before I go to the final roll call I'd like to see what the point is. Got the slide viewer and it was as advertised only better. Outstanding build quality! Works right out of the box and is more versatile than I thought. Anyway, I started looking at the slides and the more I saw the more tears I shed. But I went through a bunch of them…

As others have thought.

This viewer has received good reviews from many other customers. It arrived quickly, slides are viewed well on this unit (light, magnification and battery life are very good), and we found slides from the 1950s/60s blocked quite often. I purchased this viewer as the first step in a three-step exercise, place our parents' slides on digital media. My 91 year old parents, who are still gifted with mobility, curiosity and mental clarity, use the device to review slides before we move on to step 2 -

A good viewer/enlarger of negatives will not convert them to positive.

I have to say the deal with the seller was fantastic, he is really hands on and very good at communicating with me when I have any problems that I haven't had. My only issue was that I thought it was more than just a viewer, I really thought it would turn it into a positive and watch a larger image, maybe I didn't quite understand the description, I think I'm with the previous elements have been confused. It serves its purpose. I had over 1400 35mm negatives digitized by a company I sent them…

I'm glad I bought this product!

I've just received two of these slide viewers and I'm thrilled. It can be used on a table, leaving your hands free, or it can be held in your hands. It's just the right size. It works a bit differently than the smaller manual ones, which has its advantages. Usually, you hold the slide with your finger to preview it. This will turn on the light and you can view the image. This viewer has a button to turn on the light and the slide is placed in the viewer slot. This relieves your hands and also…

I just inherited the slide boxes from a family member who sadly passed away; I didn't get a chance to look at her. I found the desktop viewer at Revain at a reasonable price compared to buying an old slide projector. The viewer turned out to be larger than I expected, which is nice. Well packaged, 4 AA batteries included. You have the option of using an adapter cable, but it is not included. Also, there is no order form in the box to buy from the manufacturer, but they give the specs; AC/DC 6V…
