I just inherited the slide boxes from a family member who sadly passed away; I didn't get a chance to look at her. I found the desktop viewer at Revain at a reasonable price compared to buying an old slide projector. The viewer turned out to be larger than I expected, which is nice. Well packaged, 4 AA batteries included. You have the option of using an adapter cable, but it is not included. Also, there is no order form in the box to buy from the manufacturer, but they give the specs; AC/DC 6V 500mA. The slides display well on the screen and the LEDs are bright. You insert the slide at the top and after viewing you press the eject button on the side and the slide falls into the tray on the base. You can see about six slides before you have to delete them or they block the slide. I've had times where the foil got stuck inside, but it was easy to detach by giving the viewer a little shake until it straightens out. This can be alarming when it first happens, but it's no big deal. I'm not sure if it was the viewer or if I pasted the slide in the wrong place. The instructions also say the viewer can be used to view negatives, which was good to know. I went through hundreds of slides and the batteries were still charged. I can't tell how long the batteries will last before replacing them, but they don't burn out. The viewer worked well for what I needed and it didn't take up much memory. This is a good choice if you need a viewer.
