This viewer has received good reviews from many other customers. It arrived quickly, slides are viewed well on this unit (light, magnification and battery life are very good), and we found slides from the 1950s/60s blocked quite often. I purchased this viewer as the first step in a three-step exercise, place our parents' slides on digital media. My 91 year old parents, who are still gifted with mobility, curiosity and mental clarity, use the device to review slides before we move on to step 2 - digitizing. My father points out that he sped up the viewing process by holding the slide over a lighted viewing window to capture the heart of the subject. IF it needs more validation before deciding whether to digitize it or not, it actually puts it in the viewer. Otherwise there is enough light to quickly sort. After digitizing, I need them to fill in descriptions of the objects in the image, where the images were taken, when, and for what reason. Without a working projector, this device is an essential and economical tool to complete this project.
