I've only had this 1TB model for about a week. I copied several folders ranging in size from 210GB to 2GB to the SSD. As expected, the smaller specimens were lightning fast. Larger copies (200GB) start quickly, the first 5GB in about 5 seconds, with an estimated copy time of 10 minutes, but the estimated copy time quickly increased to 2 hours as the copy speed dropped to an observed 0.01 GB/s or less . (I'm using a MacBook Pro, 2.9GHz 6-core i9, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD.) Final copy time for 200GB was 1:40 hours. I repeated this test with similar results. I then copied the same 200GB folder to a Seagate 4TB portable hard drive - the copy time was 21 minutes. (FWIW, the copy HDD required a USB-C to USB-A adapter, the copy SSD connected directly to the 12" cable that came with the SSD.) I'm afraid this SSD will returned.
