Ideal for adapting legacy audio systems to HDMI

product category This device works great. My amp is ancient but still works. I used to have different types of audio (analog coax R/L, coax S/DIF, optical) and multiple forms of video (composite single coax, S-Video, coax RGB). The amplifier is from . I think 1990s. does not understand HDMI. My early to mid 2000s TV has a VDI connector, so I had an HDMI to VDI adapter on its VDI input. Amplifier together with low quality video sources, and I could use the amplifier to switch audio and video for these low quality sources at the same time, but high quality video sources, video sources, I had to connect to different TV inputs and switch audio in the amplifier and separately video in tv So I finally gave in and bought an HDMI switch box and where necessary I get blocks to convert to HDMI. In the case of this particular device, its input is the output of the HDMI switch, its HDMI output goes to the TV, and the S/DIF goes to the amplifier. This arrangement works well.
