Avoid, please read before buying. Longtime WD user, long enough to know when something stinks. partly because I usually buy direct from WD and know what the product looks like. I have this (1TB RED) and the first thing I look at is the date, yes all drives have a creation date. I received this CD on 3/28/19 but the date on it is 13th October 2014. first warning sign. Still not 100% against the drive who knows. can be new-old goods. A quick look at the spindle motor (pictured next to a black WD purchased direct from WD) shows that I am concerned about the following. renovated? Third hit was a quick warranty check on the WD website (not sure if Amazon allows links here so ask and I'll give you a link too). WD shows this as an OEM product with no warranty from them. Given the OEM status, the build date, and the poor performance of the "glue" on the motor terminals, I have a pretty good idea of what I ended up with. I've been using WD products for years, what's happening with THIS drive is fine. I'll let you draw your own conclusions from the facts I've given.
