This hose looks like a more expensive braided stainless steel hose but costs about half the price and costs even less. These tubes are smaller and I learned that the hard way by wrecking one tube, buying another and then having to modify the Magna clamp to even fit. I have worked on cars, trucks and engines for over 40 years and this Specter radiator hose is not recommended for any purpose. My hot rod all has braided stainless steel hoses, so again I wanted the radiator hoses to match when changing radiators. The old Specter hoses lasted a while but couldn't be reused when I switched to an aluminum radiator so I ordered new hoses from Spectre. I spent hours trying my best to attach the first hose and finally (after heating, lubricating, removing the tape, etc.) I attached the hose to the water pump. I tried to tighten the hose clamp and it slipped off. The remaining 3 clamps (for the upper hose and the other end of the lower hose) tightened without problems, but this one did not. This meant removing the hose as the clamp will not release with the hose installed. This hose could now only come loose if the hose broke. So I had to order another hose and another $50. This time I disassembled the Magna clamp and had to cut it off at the back as it didn't fit the hose when the hose was installed. I put the end of the Magna-Clamp onto the water pump, tightened the hose, and then put the rest of the Magna-Clamp onto the hose with the clamp. Of course, the magna clamp doesn't come back together, so I use a silver Valco RTV on the back (where it's not visible) to secure the end so it doesn't move. I very much regret purchasing these Specter hoses and will not recommend them for any other application.
