This scale is very sensitive! Simply pull your hand down to remove what you are weighing and the scale will move. This makes it difficult for me to zero the tare. I press the tare button and take my hand off the scale. It usually reports 0.003g or something like that. It definitely doesn't interfere with what I'm doing, but be aware that it won't affect your calculations. Also remember that it has a maximum range of 50g. I didn't think this would be an issue with what I do until I had to weigh something larger than the scale platter. I tried using a small Tupperware bowl but it was obscuring the display. I then switched to a Pyrex pudding pan, but it was too heavy and outweighed. In the end, I settled on small silicone measuring cups that weigh 16g, so if my product weighs less than 34g, that's enough for me.
