I like my Doulton undercounter filtration system and the water that comes out of it. I'm a bit of a water snob, so I don't say this lightly. The only problem is that Doulton goes out of his way to make things difficult to organize and understand. They are too technical and offer candles with slight differences but very different flavors in the water. I like the 10" Supercarb plugs best, but I don't think they're meant to make as much profit as selling Ultracarb, so it's hard to tell if you're actually ordering Supercarb. I don't need lead protection. or offered at extra cost by Ultracarb. Over the years, Doulton has changed names and model numbers, making things increasingly vague. I believe they are doing this on purpose or just doing UK business. God knows how it will help them become a good water filtration company? IF YOU LISTEN TO DOULTON - pull yourself together and make your parts clear and concise for the consumer, you'll get more stars! FIND? I believe Doulton would like that to be the case as they are the most popular candles they sell. It takes too long. HERE IS MY HORRIBLE STORY HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU. , The whole bottom of it came off under pressure and flooded my kitchen and bathroom. Of course this is an older system from 2005 so who knows what the average time to failure is for food grade plastic. The water supply to the housing/filter is via Doulton John Guest plastic lines so although it was under city pressure it did not leak like a normal water line. Oddly enough, I somehow "smeltβ that something was wrong at home, and for reasons unknown, I rushed home to find the tide. I pulled out a store vacuum and cleaned up the flood before it could be saved. Luckily I previously installed John Guest's plastic shut-off valve that Doulton sells (sells?) to stop the flooding. Pooh! As a precaution, while I waited for my new 10" filter housing and Supercarb to arrive in the mail, I epoxyed the old housing very well and reinstalled it on the housing head under the sink, leaving the plastic JG valve stayed. closes and opens the clean water faucet in the sink in case the JG check valve fails. It stayed that way until the parts arrived. There were no other incidents. That way it doesn't create high pressure and the plastic JG is unlikely to check Yes, it's all still possible to blow out the epoxy body, but this method is the safest way I can think of while still having ours keep normal sink water.
