The box arrived with the worst smell of mold imaginable. The plastic handles, knobs and metal parts were in sealed plastic bags and were fine. Other plastic parts were wiped with Colrox wipes and the smell was gone. The basis is a plastic-coated fiber substrate. The wipes cleaned the plastic, but complete wetting of the substrate was negligible at best. After it dried I sealed the fiber with shellac which seemed to work. The napkins didn't do anything to the wooden offering block that went into the trash can. I bought it because I don't have time to build it at the moment. Otherwise I would send it back. For the price this is not a bad product.
