Soft-boiled eggs are ideal when placed narrow-side down. Ceramic spoons are just right for scooping out the yolk, but stainless steel tablespoons make it easier to lift the top of the egg after it's been tapped and remove the shell from the top third while it's in the chicken. My stainless steel cutlery spoon is better for scooping out cooked egg whites. The chicks are cute but I wish they were more whimsical. The funniest ones I really wanted were from the UK and Australia = too far away.
