This is a SATA III USB Hard Drive Adapter. It works. If you need any of these, get this one and it will work for you too. What else can you say? It has lights that turn on and off. This lets you know that data is being transferred to or from the hard drive. I used it to transfer data from a 500GB Samsung SSD to a 1TB SanDisk SSD, then swapped out the 1TB drive for the laptop it was intended for and it worked just like the Samsung ones SSD, but after using the program Windows partitioning had twice the data storage as before and now I don't hit disk space limits anymore. If I run out of storage, this laptop will be ready to be replaced, and 2 or 4 TB drives will also be common and cheap. Donald
