I was looking for large, heavy thermal socks and they fit the bill. They are long enough for boots and thick enough to walk in almost like slippers. And of course, the fact that they're mostly wool makes them pretty good for moisture control. As far as fit goes, I haven't seen socks that ride down to the ankles and don't dig into the skin of the calves. The colors are not as bright as in the picture, but for me it's not critical. However, I would almost have to put them side by side to tell which color is which. It's good if you live where it's cold. I recommend them.
