Review on πŸ”© Amazon Basics 3/8 Inch Kitchen Inset Cabinet Door Hinge, Self-Closing, 1 Pair, Oil Rubbed Bronze, 10-Pack - Premium Hardware for Cabinet Doors by Nathan Skipper

What do you expect from 68 cent loops?

First of all I would like to say that there is a difference between the quality of the hardware that comes in a kit of 10 and a kit of 50. In both cases, the hinge itself appears to be identical. The metal they are made of is quite brittle and somewhat flexible. The finish is not very good and the satin finish is a bit uneven. The rest are hinges and they work great. A pack of 50 will have all the screws the same length, while a pack of 10 will have slightly larger screws to attach the hinges (as usual) to the front of the cabinet. Also, the screws in the 50-screw pack had poor threads (flat or partially missing) and the nickel plating was so sloppy that many of the screw heads were full, making it difficult for the screwdriver to hook into the head. I ended up having to go to Home Depot and buy replacement screws or the installation would have been impossible. I understand that they are REALLY cheap, but I think that to achieve this goal one has to make undue compromises on quality control. I would pay a little more to avoid the inconvenience of supplying my own screws. I also wonder how well they will hold up.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Socket required
