Review on πŸš— Dorman 674-439 Catalytic Converter with Integrated Exhaust Manifold for Honda Models - Non-CARB Compliant: Product Review and Buying Guide by Ricky Snyder

Good product! poor packaging, 2000 Honda Civic LX

Okay, my car's old catalytic converter cover actually fell apart. I lost power and had to shift into higher gears just to go up those same hills. I went to Autozone and the Dorman kit was $402. I went to the shop and they quoted a price of about $1,000 for parts and labor. I'm not a mechanic, but I'm not stupid either. I have a friend who worked on some cars and after two tries we solved it. I ended up having to go back on the second day and tighten all the manifold bolts as the car was even louder than before. *** interesting points *** --- my kit didn't include the exhaust manifold bolts so I used my old ones --- if you don't tighten it *very firmly* you will have a small gap (where the manifold gasket is), which leads to loss of performance. * If you have extensions (short and long and ones that allow turning, and a torque wrench, it becomes a lot easier. * The car runs like a champ now! This part fits my 2000 Honda Civic LX perfectly.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Negative gift
