So far, so good. Many Thanks.

Job done. Installed and working. I will be back in 6-12 months to update. For others installing this on a 1997 Civic or similar, be sure to remove the bracket bolts holding the exhaust pipe. It's a mount a few feet from the engine. Once removed, you can manipulate the tube to fit the bottom of the new manifold.

Pros
  • Decent performance

  • Some minor things

Amazing on my '96 Honda Civic DX 4-Door

Amazing on my '96 Honda Civic DX 4-Door. Bought the car, had to replace the manifold immediately. The sensor opening at the top was ruptured, propelling the CEL and tailpipe exhaust into the cockpit. Bought from Amazon about 3 years ago and put it on the car. Since then it has lasted about 50,000 miles. Absolutely NO problems to date. If you take the time and install it properly, it will last a long time. Dorman seems to be making a good product. This product is durable and of good quality…

Fits well on my '99 Honda Civic DX. However.

Fits my '99 Honda Civic DX. However. The bottom "o-ring" that connects the bottom of the cat converter to the exhaust pipe was not included in my kit. We've looked up and down but haven't found a round o-ring. To complete this project without further delay, I simply used an old o-ring. I wasn't very happy about it, but I didn't want to delay this project for a seal. I could complain but I wanted it done as my exhaust manifold had cracked front to back and needed to be replaced immediately. By…

it fits but needs MANY modifications

the manifold fits in the car after many modifications and reconfiguration of the pipes underneath, connection with something and steering in the right direction, the exhaust was in two parts, let's go slightly further than the original part AND it added a lot of extra time to the repair since the end was NOT specified as the OEM manifold should be able to connect "straight" to the nearest pipe. If you're interested in repairs there probably isn't a PB for you, but if you only do weekend repairs

Pros
  • Trial period of one year
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Some things were missing.

Some nuts were the wrong size. I had to buy 9 nuts to attach the distributor to the cylinder block. The nuts on the underside of the catalytic converter hardly tightened during the first few threads. The seal between the catalytic converter and the downpipe was also a thin metal disc. The one I removed was a big, old, weak gasket. It fits, but I don't see a complete seal. After installation, there was a smell of exhaust gas in the cabin. In addition, the collector itself is solid. I'll probably

Good product! poor packaging, 2000 Honda Civic LX

Okay, my car's old catalytic converter cover actually fell apart. I lost power and had to shift into higher gears just to go up those same hills. I went to Autozone and the Dorman kit was $402. I went to the shop and they quoted a price of about $1,000 for parts and labor. I'm not a mechanic, but I'm not stupid either. I have a friend who worked on some cars and after two tries we solved it. I ended up having to go back on the second day and tighten all the manifold bolts as the car was even…

Low cost, good fit, works great

The Honda Civic 98 had an engine fault light so I read a code (P0135) that pointed to a faulty bank 1 oxygen sensor. During installation I noticed a crack sensor in the exhaust manifold from the position of the lambda probe to the rear. In frustration I thought, is the problem a sensor or a cracked manifold? After checking several exhaust manifold options online, I settled on this particular model based on reviews and price. The item arrived a few days late (Prime membership) just after I left…
