This lens defeats the purpose of the people who buy the micro 4/3,,!,, I returned it. Mounted on an Olympus EM5 it looks absurdly large and too heavy to happily take photos while trying to hold the body and lens (mandatory). I found a combination of OLY pro 2.8 12-40 and OLY 40-. 155 4-5.6 is better for the camera and not heavy. Also, I found a noticeable difference between F4 and 2.8, I would have preferred to shoot at a higher shutter speed. Comparing the F4 12-100 and F2.8 12-40 2.8 side-by-side, it was sharper across the range. As for the pros of this lens, it's a quality build and feel, it has a lens hood, and if you're really limited to just using a 4/3 body and want ONLY a lens then this might be an option . The disadvantages are heavy, large and f4 limited. for myself, for $1200 I wouldn't buy it. . If all I did was take outdoor travel photos and I could buy it for half the price, I'd be tempted to give it a try. But be careful, this is not a discreet outdoor camera and definitely a target for theft. All in all I don't think OLY shot out of the park, it's a miss.
