Review on ✒️ Exquisite rOtring Fountain Pen ArtPen for Stunning Calligraphy – 1.5mm Nib by Nicole Mcleod

This is for a 1.1mm Artper. Out of the box I would give this pen a 3/5. Lightweight, easy to use and with good line variation. The downside I encountered was inconsistent startup, and even in the middle of a sentence while typing, the feed would randomly stop (ink flow issues). I tried writing with the pen upside down (flow facing up) and got much sharper lines and smoother ink flow. The downside here was that the edges on the page were too sharp and the ink dried out very quickly (like a pen) in this orientation. I fixed this by sanding down the pin with around 3000 grit sandpaper. I can now write with the pen upside down, with perfect ink delivery (doesn't bleed, but nice and juicy), sharp lines and buttery smooth movements (now glides across the paper). Backwriting also helps me with writing. cleaner, probably due to the earlier point of contact with the paper compared to the angle of my hand, which requires less finger movement. The last thing I found about this pen is that rOtring cartridges allow you to store an extra cartridge in the sleeve. The pen is not only loaded, but also amazing. Overall I give this pen 4 stars for the price. The only downside was the inconsistent ink flow in the default configuration.
