Poor quality, don't consider it a German pen

I wouldn't have recognized their poor quality if I didn't have a good comparison - Lamy Joy 1.1mm. This Rotring Art Pen is completely dry and unusable after only 2 days of non-use. Same cartridge, same premium Namiki ink from the pilot. AND IT'S DRYING. I would not recommend this pen to any of my friends.

  • GOLS certified

Calligraphy Tip Ink Stability

This is my 5th or 6th rOtring ArtPen. Unfortunately, everyone had the same problem. However, with this new pen, I encountered a problem from the very first strokes. Problem in the following: The line suddenly breaks off in the middle of a word (see screenshot). Next try and it works again. Sometimes I had to draw a line multiple times in a row to make it work. If rOtring had better pen versions, I'd rather buy them to try. I love this model and recommend it to everyone, but today the problem…

If only I could own a pen.

I've been using this pen since the mid 90's when I bought it as a resident to write daily doctor's letters in the hospital. My handwriting isn't terrible, but it's not the prettiest, but after receiving this pen, I got comments from colleagues that they can now read my notes. The pen has surprisingly really improved my handwriting. Fast forward 20 years and I still use this pen to write hospital notes, but I realize that the advent of electronic records will likely eliminate the need for such a

Edited to perfection

This is for a 1.1mm Artper. Out of the box I would give this pen a 3/5. Lightweight, easy to use and with good line variation. The downside I encountered was inconsistent startup, and even in the middle of a sentence while typing, the feed would randomly stop (ink flow issues). I tried writing with the pen upside down (flow facing up) and got much sharper lines and smoother ink flow. The downside here was that the edges on the page were too sharp and the ink dried out very quickly (like a pen)…
