Review on Extech MO210 Pocket Moisture Meter: Digital LCD Readout & Analog Bargraph for Accurate Moisture Detection by Keith Samuel

Works at a decent price

I purchased this counter after my 4 year old son clogged the upstairs bathroom sink by putting crayon down the drain and the water spilled out. The result was a small waterfall from the chandelier in the kitchen and general panic. With this device I was able to trace the path of the water and only open up the areas I needed to let things dry. Having a moisture meter saved me a ton of dollars on repairs, and this one did the job. The gauge seemed accurate to me from my observations. However, I ran a few basic tests in different rooms to see how the humidity changes before coming to any conclusions about the readings. I recommend doing this. However, as other reviewers have noted, the meter only reads when two sharp pins are stuck in the wall, but that wasn't an issue for me. use the device. But they can easily be filled with some putty or joint compound. More advanced gauges that do not require penetrating wet material are much more expensive. I'm glad I bought it and I love having it in my tool box. Just in case.
