I bought this caddy over other cheaper units mainly because of the positive reviews of the unit's performance. I installed a 2 year old critical mx300 (ssd/750GB) and was able to get a very nice 400Mbps. Reading and just a little less writing (measured with Atto). The case appears to be of solid construction and doesn't feel like it's going to break too easily, although it's thin and doesn't offer much clearance or cushioning for the drive within the case. fall event. I knew this happened, it's not a bug - if you find yourself dropping things a lot, you probably need a more durable model. I wanted a smaller size. The kit includes a small screwdriver and extra screws needed to close the case, so it came in handy. This is a very cheap screwdriver that you throw away after using it 4 times to drive screws. It should be noted that it takes the old standard USB 3 Mini-B (looks like a double width Mini-B - see attached photo) to a USB3 Type A cable. It's not a very common cable, but it is definitely not proprietary some other reviewers say.
