It is very easy to make modifications to your motorcycle that can potentially increase horsepower. Check out a good comparison made by "project farm" on YouTube. This filter definitely improves airflow (and therefore performance) over an OEM filter. But remember. OEM products are designed as they are based on extensive research and development over many years and even decades. The K&N filter and other maximum flow filters simply have larger pores to allow maximum airflow to the throttle bodies, but the downside to this is that more dirt particles can get in, which causes problems with prolonged use. These filters can be useful for those who drive exclusively on the track where dirt is limited. Riding the road brings with it all the pollutants, dirt and debris that OEM filters do best! I have a 2016 Yamaha R6 and ride exclusively on the road and will be going back to the OEM filter soon.
