Cheap plastic D-ring broke while carrying my scope

I bought this to take my 130" Celestron SLT with me. It fits. I've had the bag for a few weeks now. Today the plastic D-ring that holds the shoulder strap to the bag broke ( looks like it just burst) when I wore the scope. The scope fell off and the scope got damaged - now it has two small dents and the thumbscrew on the mount broke clean. I believe the failure is because the manufacturer decided to use a cheap plastic shoulder strap ring instead of regular aluminum rings. The main handles look ok, the stitching is solid but I wouldn't recommend using a shoulder strap. . I would also consider getting something softer like a hard case. Please note that the included "free" phone holder is worth what you pay for it. I tried using it with my iPhone XR and it didn't really work. The rubber grips don't get caught. The phone holder that comes with it is worth the money. I tried using it with my iPhone XR and it didn't really work. Rubber grips, well, don't cling.
