Now that's a nice little laptop accessory! After reading a few negative reviews I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the box so I unpacked the bits and pieces with an open eye. Inside the box you'll find a table, a small bag of eight screws, a neat little screwdriver and a good quality USB connection cable. There is a guide with pictures but a step or two is missing. My laptop is by no means a gaming laptop, but I have a few that I've bought. One of these games turns my Toshiba Satellite into a cute little heater. This particular game typically has a maximum of five minutes before my laptop gets hot enough to turn it off. It's so annoying; Also, I have a little foundling kitten that loves to curl up on my lap, but there's no room for a laptop and a kitten. :(I've had a few of those vented laptop tables before. I'm a professional internet explorer, so I spend long, long, long hours surfing the web, punctuated by brief bursts of gaming here and there. Posture is important during my workday when forced to bend over with my laptop let's just say I'm at the age where I'm afraid my back, neck and shoulders might get so cold! My iCraze is this afternoon 12/16. , arrived I eagerly unpacked it because the only way to keep my laptop from overheating is to position it in a butterfly shape, that is, in the shape of a "V" when the monitor and base are open, causing the Loops form Only one piece actually in my lap Uncomfortable!iCraze was very well wrapped in protective bubble wrap, no pieces were packed together, each had its own own little bubble wrap. It comes with 8 screws and a screwdriver for Phillips or regular use! Cute little thing! Desk The wall bothered me a bit because it's very smooth, so I started making decisions right away. I didn't have to worry as my laptop stays where I put it. In fact, my laptop is now on my iCraze; Since I'm a fast typist, iCraze doesn't pan, bounce, or reorder in any way. Also, my laptop doesn't move at all on the iCraze table. All parts are plastic, but the plastic is solid, not flimsy. The table contains two fans. On the underside of the table, connected to the front of the fan housing, is an on/off switch. Yes! You decide when the fans run! Behind the fan housing is a connector that you connect one end of the USB cable to. Yes! even comes! The cable is not flimsy and not flimsy, but thick enough. In fact, the USB cable is thicker and stronger than my Toshiba battery cable! I've used my computer in both modes, both with fans on and fans off. Because the desk is so well ventilated via the fan layout, my laptop is perfectly self-ventilated, no fans are needed. However, when I'm playing my games, the fans need to be on, so I just reach under the table for the fan switch, which is very easy and convenient to reach without having to lift the table to see the switch. I suggest you know the location of the switch so you can easily find it once your computer is on the table. The fans won't create a breeze around you, and if you're an avid gamer with the right PC, I'm not sure the fans will have enough power to safely keep your laptop cool. But for surfing and light gaming, the fans do the job perfectly. Perhaps because the table is so well ventilated, adding fans could be enough for an intense gaming session. You can have a small fan handy just in case. The table has a lip that is not just four or five inches long, but runs the full length of the table. My laptop is 16 inches and since this edge runs the entire length my laptop is pretty secure; In fact, there's about an inch more, making this desk safe for a 17-inch laptop. There is a slit on both sides. a table to attach the included mouse pad; However, I chose not to install a pad as my chair has wide wooden arms perfect for a mouse pad. The mouse pad is made of the same material as the table and, according to the instructions, can remain level even when the table is tilted. And the table tilts; You have to experiment to find your comfort level. Don't get carried away though, because while this table will hold your laptop securely, if you raise the table too high, gravity will win and your laptop will lose! Use common sense. Now for the legs there is a set of two. Each has a port on either side of the table where you simply insert the leg connector into the port until it clicks into place. Quite easy. Be sure to look outward at the portion of the leg that contains the adjustment knobs. Those buttons. There are three in total, and they include markers to help you adjust the legs so both sides are the same. The legs are a bit more difficult to master as you have to press the buttons to make the legs or table move. That's good because these buttons keep the legs from folding in when your laptop is in use or just sitting on a table. A small caveat. You can leave your laptop on the table, but make sure the table is stable and will not tip over under the weight of your laptop. This device actually has no "legs" so be careful! Having assembled the iCraze and using it for about six hours now, I can honestly say that there is no strain in my neck, shoulders or back. I'm not looking at my screen because my laptop is now fully open instead of sitting in a "V" on my lap. I'm not cold either because to keep my laptop cool I had a fan next to me which blew onto my computer over my shoulder. I live in an old barn conversion, with no insulation, and it's less than 35 degrees outside right now. My heater is on overtime so sitting with a fan slung over my shoulder is definitely not heaven! I am very comfortable and my kitten is happy and sleeping on my lap. She doesn't seem to mind when fans blast her. The reason I gave this unit four stars instead of five is because the instructions are a bit unclear and the installer is left wondering; An illustrative example. I still haven't figured out where to put the four screws (eight of which are in the package). Comfort, stability and durability, in addition to allowing my kitty to curl up under this table on my lap, I give the device itself five stars. Oh, and since the fans are powered from your computer's USB port, make sure you have a multi-device port for your USB if you plan to use an external mouse or flash drive. TO UPDATE. It's been 11 months and I've been using my iCraze every day since it was launched. I was by no means gentle with it. The fans continue to hum and whirr, the legs and controls are still solid and fully functional. I am still using the same laptop that I stated in my original review. If you want something like this, buy iCraze!
