Review on Corsair Carbide Series 678C: The Ultimate Low Noise Tempered Glass ATX Case in Black by Mike Lawler

Revainrating 2 out of 5

If you like quiet, this is your next housing.

Considering my previous case, it was a Corsair 600T (white) with an LGA1155/i7-2600K case; truly blown away by all the 'quality of life' improvements that the Corsair 678C offers. But the most important thing for me was the sound. Even with a bunch of quiet cougar fans; The Corsair 600T started to get annoying as I added more fans to the airflow mesh. The Corsair 678C now keeps my LGA1200 build in serene silence. Given the sound absorbing properties and the glass side door, I chose the H100i to cool my i7-10700K. During the New York summer, my idle case temperature is typically 40-50C while the CPU stays below 40C. Upgrade from MSI GTX 1070 to the longer Zotac RTX 3080 Trinity OC. The 3080's chassis extends to the hard drive bays, leaving plenty of room for longer cards. Much more could be said, but this enclosure is primarily designed for peace and quiet. All other features are great, which is to be expected from newer cases. But if you're looking for a quiet killer and you know how to keep your gear cool, then the 678C is a clear winner.
