Like many other reviewers, I can't get them to fully unfold, relax, lay flat in my life. They come rolled up (16 inches wide) and I put them in the garage when they arrived to unroll them before I started using them. A few days later they still had a noticeable curvature. Obviously, for a doormat, a curve means you can trip. So I turned it over and put some heavy things on it. Another week goes by, shedding the heavy stuff and the curve gets better but still noticeable on short edges. I put them in their final position (I also got ties so I could join the 2 16x24 sections and lay the bricks on the outside edges. And almost a month later the ends are still curling. Maybe I should have addressed that not to mention there are still very dull "bubbles" in the middle holding the two sections together. Maybe the larger ones work better? But it seems an odd trait of construction and nature of rubber to be YMMV
