Dose Monitor does not have a separate screen but instead mirrors another screen

When I bought the monitor it was my 3rd monitor and as a gaming laptop user I should have gotten a switch but when using them I noticed that the 2 extra monitors were mirrors of each other. I was upset and assumed it was a switch but today I unplugged another monitor from the switch and instead of having a laptop screen and a monitor screen this monitor mirrored my laptop screen and now is this new monitor there unless I switch on another monitor.
