I love to cook, so I have a lot of different spices and dried herbs. I've always done my best to keep them well organized, but really they took an entire shelf of a cupboard next to the oven, and finding the one that I wanted without knocking others down was a whole thing.I happened across this unit while looking for something else, and I am really happy that I decided to try it out. I measured the space first to be sure that it would fit, and it fits the space perfectly. All of my regular sized spice jars are neat and orderly now, and I separated/organized them by type so I always know where to reach for what I want.The top is flat and solid, with a rim around it. This is perfect for me, in my cupboard there is just enough room on top that things like cornstarch, baking soda, and pint jars of spices that I buy in bulk and use a lot of at a time (such as chili powder, curry powder, etc).I would buy this again in a second, and I recommend it highly. Just make sure to measure your space. If this one isn't quite right, there are similar products in other sizes or different dimensions to fit different spaces.
