I bought a size 8 in khaki for a school uniform. Sizing wise my son is very slim and needs to wear a belt to hold them up. In some sizes they no longer have elastics inside to tighten them, which is a bit uncomfortable, but again we are talking about size 8. The length is perfect and matches his other size 8 pants from other brands. . The difference is that they have a higher waist than, say, his cargo or jeans. Quality: We've had them for a few weeks now and have been worn and washed maybe 5-6 times. They were very stiff at first but some of them will soften with wear/washing. The material is exactly what you'd expect from Dickies and they seem to be very durable. Which is great considering he rips holes in his jeans after 3-4 wears. Looks like they're holding up well. My only complaint is the color. As you can see from my photo, their "Khaki" version has a pronounced olive tint. It's not that he can't wear them for his uniform, but if you're buying them for school uniforms, you might be better off going with the ones that say 'Desert Sand'. Although I haven't actually seen them. Just a thought. (Dickies pictured below center. Some white and other khakis are included for reference. Wrangler on left, Cherokee on top, French Toast on right) has a distinct olive hue.
