I am very skeptical of most golf trainers. Many of them are super tricky. This tutorial is legal. It really forces you to focus on making good contact with the ball. If you don't have good contact with the ball, you'll hit the back or sides of the device. This is instant feedback on whether you are making good touch. If you hit a lot of balls off the mat, this thing is the perfect companion, because golf mats have a certain amount of give. If you hit the mat a bit behind the ball, the ball might still fly well, but it would be a bad hit on the lane. This device gives you feedback on the mat. So far I have probably hit about 1500 balls with this device. The quality of the device is normal. In principle, it immediately deteriorates, but this does not affect the device in any way. You can inflate it and it doesn't feel like it's going to break. It might break eventually, but I think I could use it for a year or two without it breaking. If I broke it, I would buy another without a problem. It's cheap enough that if I break it I wouldn't care. Now here's the thing. This is the only piece of exercise equipment I've ever used that made me think, yes, this thing is definitely helping me. I have better contact with the ball after using it. I have a better understanding of where the clubhead is, what angle the clubhead enters the ball and how deep the backswing is. Knowing the head of the club on a swing that I didn't know before missing it helps, which I find helpful. I noticed a significant improvement in ball touch with this device within 3 times of using it. I start with short chip swings, work my way up to half swings, then 3/4 swings, then full swings. I challenge myself to 10 balls. How many balls out of 10 can I miss the plate? I experiment with little swing tricks and write down the results of 10. What helps? What doesn't help? What speaks against me? How much should I spin? I get immediate feedback as to whether I'm making good contact with the ball. Good touch on the ball is probably the most important skill for consistency with iron and bucket and probably the best basis for further development. I don't write many reviews unless the product is really bad or really good. This is a golf learning tool that I really like. I'll be using it all winter and I'm sure my game will improve a lot this offseason as the weather turns bad.
