If you do a lot of research and end up with multiple tabs open at once, this is the best way to do it. Maybe a solid state drive would help a little more. but after that, if that's still not enough, it's time for a new laptop. I had an older i7 processor but it's fast enough. I used to be able to open maybe 40 tabs with just 8GB of RAM and then had to close some of them. it's closer to 70 now. You may not need as much now, so choose wisely. Would 2 sticks with 4 GB be enough? Or even 2 flash drives of 2GB each? it depends on your usage. hope that helps.
