I've tried to avoid "square" crimping machines, but most of my choices either had less throughput or were prohibitively expensive. Copper 6AWG. Some of my connections were "weld wire", with thinner strands and more flexibility than the Romex. The wire barely fit into the ferrule but I had to remove the insulating caps as they did not fit over the wire jacket. However, since they terminate in a terminal block, protection is maintained even without the insulating caps. Squeezing the ferrule under the terminal block screw rather than the screw resting directly on the thin strands of wire certainly ensures a good and secure connection. No complaints. They've proven themselves to be dependable on every crimp, every crimp has been dependable, and finishing with an extra dose of professionalism takes care.
