The drive works great but I had to slightly adapt the instructions in other reviews and forums. My original daughter board that connected to the old drive was a BDP-025. The daughter board shipped with the new drive is model BDP-020. The reviews and forums I've read said we need to swap out the daughter boards or the drive won't work. There are many references stating that the motherboard and daughterboard should stay together until a new daughterboard is flashed. I followed these instructions and swapped out the circuit boards and the PS4 didn't recognize the new disc. I've checked all the cables to make sure they're plugged in properly, but the system still doesn't recognize the drive. Out of curiosity I removed the old daughter board and plugged in the new one (now configured as it came in the box) and it worked without flashing the new board.
