Save some money and don't get WiFi version. I own both models. The device is easy to use, accurate and reliable in temperature control. I use it to control my freezer to regulate the temperature to fridge temperature (40ºF). Works perfectly. So for the 2nd device I decided to try the WiFi version. The WiFi version requires "Location Services" to be enabled, not the iPhone, which means the STC-1000 connects directly to your home WiFi and your phone, doesn't use WPS security or any other secure protocol and isn't hackable allows access to your network. The instructions are written in "poor English" and are difficult to understand. And it says the app is free, but to get the features (graphics) you need, you have to pay a monthly fee for iCloud storage. Apparently you can export data, NO! The app is still under development and not worth it due to the value for money and the lack of WiFi security. Buy a base unit. A: The temperature accuracy depends on the location of the sensor in your environment. Compared to the second source, the temperature accuracy is +/- 2-3ºF. Stability +/-1-2ºF. The controller is GREAT, but the app isn't!
