, the car was @ a year old and when you pulled the trigger to weld it started pushing the wire until the wire arced and the motor stopped closing the wire push the wire back burned the tip and you would have to pull the wire with pliers. If it's not burned to the top of the stick, it's working again. The reason I think it was/is a motor in the portable is because you pull a little wiring, the motor runs again after a while does it run like warm again right? I had to leave an extra tip because I would be walking so much, spoke to the place I bought it from and got no replies. it kept getting worse until i was ready to sell it and start over. I ordered a new Magnum Pro 100 and now it works as it should, my car is a Lincoln 180.
