Review on Satechi Lightweight Aluminum Portable Laptop by Josh Chenier

Looks good but not really

I was hesitant to work with a tilt stand as I'm used to working with a flat laptop. I was also concerned that typing at an angle would be awkward. Well I'm happy to report that the stand elevates the monitor to a much more comfortable viewing angle and relieves neck strain when I have to look down for hours which has caused my neck to become tight in the past. I can say right away that I now work with a much healthier posture. Printing is also convenient! I gave it one star because there doesn't seem to be enough spacers around the base to prevent scratches. I have a 2017 15-inch Macbook Pro and when I put my laptop down I hear this aluminum-on-aluminum rubbing noise that makes me nervous because the bottom of my $2,000 laptop is getting scratched. Now I have to be very careful and gentle before putting it on and taking it off the stand, but that wouldn't have to be the case if it were better designed. UPDATE 06/01/18: More stars to dock with two. I've been using it for less than a month. This stand and the rubber strap attached to it can support the full weight of the laptop, and my hands started to loosen while typing. Looks like cheap glue. I am attaching a photo to show where the damage is. Again, this is pretty unacceptable quality for normal use in less than a month. I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle of a return/exchange so I might just try re-gluing it myself with a stronger adhesive.
