FOLLOW-UP 10/24/2019:Follow-up: I have liked this unit so much that I just bought a second one today when I discovered (acidentally) that it was in Lightning Deal sale! SCORE!I can't compliment this light highly enough guys-- and with this second one I'll have plenty of light to rock out a truly useful indoor garden for our family :)I am using this for a corner in our home so that my family can grow medicinal herbs (Lemon balm, Echinacea, Motherwort, Skullcap, and many more!) in a consistent and effective way. This is by far the best spread/light pattern for our space, and though it does produce a little heat, it's modest. It will actually pay dividends this winter when it is in use by giving back some of the warmth to the room.There is no timer for this light included-- it's manual switches only-- don't know why that is mentioned. I just turn it on in the AM and off before bed. It's built like a tank, and while the fans aren't really quiet, they are totally in line with what I would expect to keep the unit within operating range-- if I were troubled by it it would be very easy to create a simple insulating baffle to diffuse the sound using basic foam insulation, but I have not felt it necessary. Overall A+ device, I will probably buy more someday if we move into a place that allows more room for in-home garden space. (SEE UPDATE ABOVE-- I BOUGHT A SECOND ONE SALE!)
